Program Requirements & Guidelines:

 

• Pets are for companionship and not for breeding or illegal activities

• We encourage you to have your pets spayed or neutered. Ruff Patches can refer you to free or low-cost programs for spaying and neutering unless deemed unsafe by your veterinarian due to age or other issues. 

• Pets must be a part of the family with shelter and must be maintained in a healthy environment and living conditions or let a volunteer know if this is not possible so we can offer assistance!

• Pet food recipients cannot take on any additional animals while receiving assistance

• Understand that all pet food and supplies are donated and may not be the current brand you use to feed your pet, which may upset your pet’s stomach at first

• Agree not to hold Ruff Patches' Jessica's Pet Pantry, its volunteers, and benefactors legally liable in the unfortunate event your pet(s) become ill or the food upsets your pets(s) stomach

• Recipients agree not to resell, redistribute or attempt to return to a store, any food or care items received from Ruff Patches' Jessica's Pet Pantry

• Ruff Patches' Ruff Patches' Jessica's Pet Pantry will make every effort to consider special requests for certain formulas or flavors of dog and cat food (i.e., Senior, indoor, etc.), but are only able to give what is in stock at the time

• We require that you treat everyone at Ruff Patches' Jessica's Pet Pantry with courtesy and respect.

• An expired sell-by date doesn’t necessarily mean that a food has gone bad or is unsafe.  Surplus and other bargain stores often keep good food from being wasted and provide nutrition at a good price – when the food has been handled safely. Also, it may mean that the nutrition may not meet all the advertising claims, with it providing less nutrition over time. We feel that food that is half as nutritious to someone facing food insufficiency or even starving still helps.

• Should you violate any of the above requirements, Ruff Patches' Pet Food Bank will terminate assistance immediately without notice.
